Truth and Reconciliation Day is September 30th, 2023. In the week leading up to this day the Hadiya’dagénhahs First Nations, Métis and Inuit Student Centre is hosting many events. In CareerZone our Indigenous Plus Consultant Michelle Root, will be hosting events in our CareerZone space at the back of Market. The theme of these events is Engage, Learn, Act.
We encourage students to Engage by wearing an orange t-shirt on Friday. If you don’t have one, they are available for purchase at the Campus store, all proceeds go to the Woodland Cultural Centre. If you want to buy a t-shirt elsewhere, please do your due diligence and know where your proceeds are going. Hadiya’dagénhahs First Nations, Métis and Inuit Student Centre will be hosting a full day event on Friday Sept. 29th for National Day of Truth & Reconciliation. All students are welcome to attend the week’s events.
To Learn about context and gain an understanding of the upcoming National Day for Truth and Reconciliation, there will be 2 In-Person and 2 virtual Drop-in Sessions for the days of Monday Sept. 25th to Thurs. Sept 28th between the hours of 1:30 – 2:20pm and a 25 min debrief after each session should you wish to unpack your learning.
